Here at Old Tibet, Sreejana crafts these prayer malas by hand with one-of-a-kind stone arrangements
Old Tibet prayer bracelets or wrist malas are designed and made here in our store. We use a variety of Tibetan minerals to make our prayer malas, traditional Buddhist prayer beads. On our chakra malas, we add a mineral for each of the seven colors associated with each chakra (energy point in the body). Each mineral has its own energy which gives our handmade mala beads a vibration that we have been told is very powerful.
A prayer mala is historically used as a meditation or prayer tool. The traditional prayer mala is made of 108 beads, a guru bead, and a tassel. Each bead represents one repetition of a mantra or prayer during meditation. The mala is used to keep track of the number of times a mantra is chanted or thought. In addition, Old Tibet malas are commonly used for their energetic properties and look beautiful as a necklace or wrapped around the wrist as a multiple string bracelets. >
